Nagaland organisers call for peaceful ‘March against AFPSA’

According to a release issued by the organisers have urged the participants not to show their sentiment, jeer or annoy military personnel on duty or disturb any military convoy.

Kohima: Organizers of the ‘March against AFSPA’ from Dimapur to Kohima, have appealed to all the participants to obey the authorities and not to indulge in any form of violence or destroy public property during the march and follow all directions of SOP for COVID.

According to a release issued by the organisers have urged the participants not to show their sentiment, jeer or annoy military personnel on duty or disturb any military convoy.

They said this is a purely peaceful march and all should silently march till the end, which will commence from Supermarket in Dimapur at 6:00 AM on January 10 and halt at Piphema for the night and the march will continue to Kohima at 6:00 AM next day on January 11.

They said all logistics have been arranged for the march and maintain a single file of walking, not to obstruct traffic or litter any place.
While ambulances will accompany the walkers, the coordinators reminded anyone who has prior medical conditions or is not in good health, not to participate in the arduous walk.

The Naga public which has for long silently bore the brunt of army atrocities under the draconian Act has decided to come together to oppose such denigration and to assert our rights and dignity as human beings, it said.
