Imphal: The Election Commission of India (ECI) will hold a two-day conference with the Chief Electoral Officers of all States/UTs on March 4-5, 2025 at India International Institute of Democracy & Election Management, New Delhi, as per a press release from ECI.
This is the first such conference to be held after Gyanesh Kumar assumed charge as CEC. The CEOs have been instructed to nominate a DEO and an ERO to participate in the conference. As statutory authorities, CEOs, DEOs, and EROs are important functionaries at the State, District, and Assembly Constituency levels, the press note continued.
The two-day conference offers state and UT election officials a platform to brainstorm and learn from each other’s experiences. On day one, the Conference will discuss key areas of modern election management, including IT Architecture, Effective Communication, enhancing social media outreach, and the statutory role of different functionaries in the electoral processes.
The press note added that on the second day, state and UT CEOs will present their respective action plans based on thematic discussions from the previous day.
