Pherzawl: The International Day of Older Persons was observed at Pherzawl Community Hall, with a programme organised by the District Social Welfare Officer, Pherzawl.
A total of 112 senior citizens, along with members of the Village Authority, Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Village Resource Persons (VRPs) and local villagers, participated in the programme.
The programme featured awareness activities and an interaction session with senior citizens. Gifts and tokens of appreciation were also distributed to all participating senior citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, Village Resource Person Thangbieksang highlighted the wisdom and dignity that come with longevity. He stressed that older persons are valuable members of society and should be respected and treasured.
The programme aimed to promote awareness about the importance of respecting and valuing senior citizens in the community.
