Moscow: The US embassy in Moscow issued an urgent warning for American citizens living in Russia on Sunday and recommended then to think over “evacuation plans” to leave the country.
“According to media sources, there have been threats of attacks against shopping centers, railway and metro stations, and other public gathering places in major urban areas, including Moscow and St. Petersburg as well as in areas of heightened tension along the Russian border with Ukraine,” the embassy said in a statement.
In connection to that, the agency advised US citizens to work out personal “evacuation plans.”
“Review your personal security plans… Have evacuation plans that do not rely on US government assistance,” the embassy added.
