Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday instructed the higher government officials to keep a strict vigil so that prices of essential medicines remain under control.
Interacting with district magistrates, top health officials and other stakeholders associated with novel corona-management through a video conference, Sonowal said that the second wave of COVID-19 has pushed up the daily surge of cases and directed the concerned officials to enforce protective guards to help checking the spike in cases with enhancing screening initiative.
A total of 55 patients succumbed to infections caused by the COVID-19 virus on Wednesday.
