Churachandpur: The Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ganesh Nagaranjan IFS, on Monday undertook a detailed review of development projects being implemented in Churachandpur district under the Aspirational District Programme of NITI Aayog.
At the DC’s Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, Churachandpur, the Deputy Secretary chaired a comprehensive meeting attended by the Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar IAS, district officials and representatives of various line departments. The deliberations centred on the progress and achievements across 39 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) grouped under five socio-economic themes—Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Water Resources, Financial Inclusion and Skill Development, and Infrastructure.
Emphasising the need for timely interventions, Nagaranjan directed departments to strengthen inter-departmental coordination for effective execution of the programme. He underscored the importance of regular monitoring to ensure transparency, adherence to timelines and quality outcomes. Officers were instructed to proactively identify gaps and address them through a coordinated approach. Giving patient hearing to grievances and suggestions, he assured that genuine concerns would be taken up with the appropriate authorities. Reaffirming the government’s commitment, he noted that the initiative seeks holistic development of the identified blocks.
Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, who was present at the meeting, assured that positive measures would be taken to monitor the progress of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). He directed the Project Director, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), to assume a proactive role in the process. Stressing the need for improvement in data entry, he stated that the district administration would extend full cooperation with all available resources to strengthen implementation.
Later in the day, the Deputy Secretary inspected the construction of a specialized health unit for women and children at Lamka South, one of the aspirational blocks recognized for its performance under the programme. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar IAS, Thangboi Gangte, ADC, Mualnuam and BDO i/c Lamka South, Jangminlen Lupho, SDO/BDOs Tuibong, Jameson Sehlal Hangsing, PD/DRDA, DLOs and officials of line departments.
It may be recalled that Churachandpur district has two aspirational blocks, Lamka South and Tuibong, which have received national-level recognition for their achievements in implementing the programme.
