Churachandpur: In a major push towards women’s development and community security, Assam Rifles organised a motivational-cum-cyber safety initiative for NCC girl cadets at Churachandpur College on 27 June 2026. The dual-focus programme aimed to inspire budding talents to pursue rewarding careers in the Armed Forces, foster leadership qualities and equip the younger generation with critical knowledge to counter the growing threat of cyber fraud and navigate modern digital threats.

The event saw the enthusiastic participation of nearly 160 NCC girl cadets. During the first phase, interactive sessions mapped out diverse career opportunities within the military, detailing eligibility criteria, entry streams and professional growth pathways. The personnel laid special emphasis on the expanding role of women in the Armed Forces, fostering leadership traits and inspiring the cadets to actively participate in nation-building. The second phase addressed the surge in digital crimes by sensitising the students to prevalent online scams, financial frauds and identity theft. Security experts demonstrated safe digital habits, practical preventive measures and avenues for reporting cybercrimes. By combining career guidance with digital literacy, the initiative of cadet engagement successfully met the immediate need for youth mentorship and cyber resilience for young women, reinforcing the collaborative link between the security forces and the local community
