UP govt to set up Ramayana University

The motive behind establishment of the Ramayana University is to conserve the rich Indian culture and traditional education on the one hand and to inculcate love for the rich Indian civilization among the younger generation on the other.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up to set up the Ramayana University in Ayodhya. 

The Maharishi Vidyapeeth Trust has already identified 21 acres of land where the university will be set up, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.  

The Ramayana University will not only create employment opportunities for the youth, but also arouse their interest in Sanskrit language. Students will be taught the Vedas, the Ramayana, Upanishads, Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda, in addition to Sanskrit grammar and modern science at the university. 

The motive behind establishment of the Ramayana University is to conserve the rich Indian culture and traditional education on the one hand and to inculcate love for the rich Indian civilization among the younger generation on the other.  

The university will seek to create employment opportunities in the field of Sanskrit language so that more and more students are interested to pursue a career in it while acquiring knowledge about the ancient Vedic education system.

The university will also offer courses in Hindi and modern science. 
In the first phase of the university, as many as 500 students will get admission, who will also be provided food and accommodation facilities.
