Shillong: An unidentified woman in her 20’s was found dead in Meghalaya following which one person has been arrested on Sunday, police said.
The semi-baked body was found near Wah Myntdu in West Jaiñtia Hills district after police were alerted about it on Sunday morning, Superintendent of Police, Bikram Marak said.
“We suspected to be a case of murder and one person has been arrested in this connection and is being interrogated,” Marak said.
He said team of Crime Scene Unit along with Dog squad from Shillong is assisting the district police to unravel the fact of the incident.
“The body has been sent for autopsy and we are waiting for the report to confirm the ascertain the cause of death and whether the victim was raped before her death,” the police official said.
