New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday raised concerns about the surging COVID-19 cases in the country and termed it ‘worrying”.

“Rising #covid numbers are worrying. Vaccination must pick up the pace to avoid serious outcomes in the next wave,” he said in a tweet.

According to the government data, India added 46,164 new coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, a 22 per cent jump, while deaths from the virus rose to 607.

The country’s overall case load now stands at 3.25 crore, while total fatalities are at 4.36 lakhs, according to the government.

Meanwhile, taking a dig at the asset monetization scheme of the government, the former Congress president said, “Please take care of yourself because GOI is busy with sale”.
