Odisha sanctions Rs.15 lakh ex gratia each to 17 working journalist died of Covid

Official sources said with the approval of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Information and Public Relations Department has sanctioned ex-gratia @Rs. 15 Lakh each to 17 working journalists of the State who died of Covid-19.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has sanctioned Rs 2.55 crore from the Journalist Welfare Fund for disbursement to the next kin of the journalists who died of covid.
Official sources said with the approval of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Information and Public Relations Department has sanctioned ex-gratia @Rs. 15 Lakh each to 17 working journalists of the State who died of Covid-19.
Few more such cases have been received by the I & PR Department which will be disbursed after due verification, official sources said.
After required enquiry at the district level, eligible applications will be considered for disbursement of the ex-gratia compassionate assistance.
