Imphal: Assam Rifles orchestrated two major interactions in Thoubal and Imphal West districts with the communities, successfully aligning influential civil structures with sustainable peace frameworks.
The security mission gained significant momentum in Thoubal District, where five Assam Rifles personnel collaborated closely with 30 prominent members of the Apunba Lilong Chaching Meira Paibi Lup. Shifting the spotlight onto socio-economic growth, senior officials detailed the sweeping impact of ongoing Civic Action Programmes. The structured dialogue focused heavily on enlightening the group of government and military infrastructure development programmes, targeted youth engagement, health camps, intensive drug awareness drives and vital welfare schemes tailored for rural transformation.
Striking a similar chord of proactive public participation, a separate security conclave was established at the Company Operating Base in Komlakhong, located within Imphal West District. This second assembly drew 25 vital local stakeholders, including police officials, ward representatives, club members and community leaders from the villages of Konuma, Komlakhong, Laphupat Tera and Khordak, alongside the Youth Development Associations of Phabakchao and Komlakhong. The participants engaged in transparent discussions regarding regional stability, highlighting security challenges such as illegal monetary demands, extortion-related activities and kidnapping threats. The forum also collectively addressed the socio-economic menace of drug abuse, brainstorming protective avenues for local youth.
Acknowledging a previous lack of awareness regarding these large-scale interventions, the Meira Paibis welcomed the outreach, expressing deep gratitude for the transparency.
