Chandel: A Mass Rally under the District Integrated Strategy for HIV/AIDS, Integrated IEC Campaign 3.0 was held today at Chandel to intensify public awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention and promote an HIV/AIDS-free society.
Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, Mamoni Doley, flagged off the rally from the DC Complex, Chandel. The rally proceeded through H/Q Chandel Bazar and concluded at the SDO Chandel Compound.
The rally was organised by the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), Chandel, with support from the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and Manipur AIDS Control Society (MACS), under the theme “Together for an HIV/AIDS Free Society.”
The rally aimed at strengthening Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities on HIV/AIDS prevention, while creating awareness among the public about the importance of prevention and addressing stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS.
The programme and rally conducted under the supervision of Dr. B. Cingdeihnieng, DACO, Chandel, was participated by officials and staff of DAPCU, Health Department personnel, police personnel, ASHA workers, students and volunteers. The participants carried placards and banners displaying various messages on HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness.
