Manipur logs 380 new cases, active cases climb to 2004 Wednesday

Imphal: There is no report of any Covid related death but 358 persons (335 general population 23 CAPF) tested positive and 145 persons recovered and were discharged in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Of the 335 persons from the general population who tested positive, 156 are from Imphal West, 72 from Imphal East, 40 from Churachandpur, 15 each from Thoubal, 10 from Chandel, eight from Tamenglong, six from Kakching, three each Kamjong and Tengnoupal, two from Senapati and one each from Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl and Ukhrul.

Altogether, 2,508 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 14.4 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 28,231 out of which 1,24,212 have recovered, leaving 2004 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 18, 2022, is 6,630, the cumulative number of doses administered is 24,03,077 (1st dose 13,69,680, 2nd dose 10,24,129) and precautionary 9,268.

There a total of 300 covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 22 are occupied while 278 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 68 are occupied and 122 are vacant.
