Manipur logs 2 deaths, 31 new cases, 50 recoveries Sunday

The two persons who expired due to the deadly virus are from Imphal East and Bishnupur.

Imphal: Two persons succumbed to Covid while 31 persons got infected with coronavirus and 50 persons recovered in Manipur in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Sunday,, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The two persons who expired due to the deadly virus are from Imphal East and Bishnupur. Both the deceased had co-morbidities and one of them was fully vaccinated while the rest was not vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll of the state now stands at 2111.

Of the 31 persons from the general population who tested positive, 14 are from Imphal West, seven from Imphal East, three from Bishnupur and one each from Senapati, Chandel, Churachandpur, Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Thoubal and Ukhrul.

Altogether 1,122 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 2.8 % 

Meanwhile, 50 persons recovered and were discharged, 30 of them from home isolation, seven each from CCCs and JNIMS and six from RIMS. 

The recovery rate of the state stands at 98.21 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 36, 758 out of which 1, 34, 308 have recovered leaving 339 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on February 26, 2022, is 6,779, the cumulative number of doses administered is 27,05,526 (1st dose 15,10, 061, 2nd dose 11,36, 380) and precautionary dose 59,085.
