Outreach programme on SVEEP organised at Lilong

Imphal: A one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organised at Lilong Bazar, Thoubal District by the Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India today. Md. Nizamuddin, President, Jama Masjid, Lilong presided the event.

Head of Office ROB, Imphal, Dr. Aribam Ibomcha Sharma, urged everyone to practice ethical voting and to exercise universal suffrage on informed choice. He also urged the audience to go through the Know Your Candidate  (KYC) App or the website of the ECI.

Inclusive and accessible election, use of cVigil App, Electronic Voting Machine(EVM), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), Toll-free number 1950 and COVID Appropriate Behaviour while going out to vote were discussed with the electorates who are going to vote during the 2nd phase of Manipur Assembly Election, 2022.

An on-the-spot quiz contest on Election Quotient was held and prizes along with certificates were distributed. M/s People’s Arts and Dramatic Association(PADA), Top Khongnangkhong,  a Private Registered Troupe(PRT) of ROB, Imphal, staged a drama on SVEEP namely “Election gi Sambal”, as per a press note from Programme-in-charge ROB, Thokchom Anthony.
