Imphal: Manipur Police and troops seized drugs worth about Rs 4.38 Crore in two separate incidents.

During routine checking of vehicles at Permanent Vehicle Check Post, Khudengtabi, troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a vehicle on Monday and seized 842 grams of brown sugar in 20 soap cases concealed inside a bag.

The seized narcotics were assessed to be worth Rs 1.68 crore, Assam Rifles official said. On Monday Assam Rifles and Manipur Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 1.26 Kgs of brown sugar in 30 soap cases.

The seized narcotics were assessed to be worth Rs 2.7 crore. The recovered items along with the drug peddlers were handed over to Moreh Police Station for further action.
