Pallel: In a significant effort to foster youth engagement and motivate the younger generation towards public service, the Assam Rifles organised a multi-faceted educational and awareness tour at Pallel Garrison in Kakching district today. Facilitated specifically at the initiative of Lieutenant General K. Himalay Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM (Retired), Chairman of the Senkon Institute (Navodaya and Sainik), the comprehensive programme welcomed a delegation of 229 students and 11 teachers from Charangpat in Thoubal district.

The comprehensive itinerary provided the visiting students with a rare, close-up insight into the operational roles, capabilities and national security responsibilities of the security forces. During the centerpiece weapon display programme, Assam Rifles personnel showcased a wide variety of modern weapons and equipment currently employed for operational and security duties. The students and faculty members were thoroughly briefed on technical specifications, operational utility and strict safety protocols in a controlled environment.

Expanding the scope of the educational experience, the visitors were taken on a specialized tour of the community radio station, CRS Radio Highway, where they learned about the vital role of community radio in public outreach, awareness generation and information dissemination. The educational tour concluded with a visit to the Cultural Hall at Pallel Garrison, where the delegation was acquainted with the rich cultural heritage, traditions and history of the region. The interactive format allowed the students to engage freely with the troops, gaining a first-hand understanding of the discipline, professionalism and dedication required in military service while inspiring them toward careers in the armed forces and other uniformed services. Expressing deep gratitude for the unique exposure, the faculty and students appreciated the security forces for delivering a highly motivating and memorable learning experience.
