Arunachal reports 41 fresh COVID-19 cases, two casualties

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has recorded 41 fresh COVID-19 cases and two fatalities during the past 24 hours, according to a senior health official.

Meanwhile, the state registered more daily cases than the recoveries. The new cases (41) reported during the last 24 hours raised the state’s tally of confirmed cases to 54,812.

Of the new infections, Namsai detected the highest 14 cases, followed by Shi-Yomi seven, East Siang five and Itanagar Capital Complex two. Ten of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 31 symptomatic.

On the other hand, 28 COVID-19 patients have recuperated across the state in the period that increased the total number of recovered cases to 54,108. The state’s COVID recovery rate is 98.71 per cent, the case positivity rate 0.77 per cent and the death rate 0.51 per cent.

The state’s active caseload presently stands at 425 with Lower Dibang Valley topping the chart with 74 cases, followed by Lohit at 69, West Kameng at 62 and Tawang at 49, according to COVID data released by the Directorate of Health Services here.
