Arunachal reports 245 new Covid cases; death toll mounts to 133

On a positive note, 302 people were discharged, taking the total recoveries to 27,150. The recovery rate is over 89 per cent.

Itanagar: As many as 245 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s infection tally to 30,492, while the death toll rose to 133 as five more succumbed to the virus.

Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 35, followed by Namsai 29 and Changlang 27, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Barring 108, all the cases are asymptomatic.

According to the bulletin, among the five fatalities, two were reported from Itanagar Capital Complex. A 65-year-old woman died on Wednesday evening and a 64-year-old man expired on Thursday at DCH, Chimpu here. The other three casualties were reported from West Kameng, Lohit and Tawang.

On a positive note, 302 people were discharged, taking the total recoveries to 27,150. The recovery rate is over 89 per cent.

Active cases stood at 3,209.
