Imphal: In a heartfelt tribute to the indomitable spirit of the youth in Manipur, Assam Rifles organised a series of felicitation ceremonies at Kakching Garrison to honour academic toppers and sporting icons. The events recognised the perseverance of young achievers who excelled despite socio-political and personal challenges, reaffirming the commitment of the force to nurturing local talent and encouraging excellence.
The ceremony first celebrated 13 toppers from the Class 10 batch of 2025-26 at Assam Rifles Public School, Kakching. Master Tevin Heigrujam was specifically recognised for securing a scholarship and standing first in an examination organised by the Kakching Educational Trust. Senior officials lauded the teaching staff for their dedication, which propelled the school to the third position among all ARPS institutions. The awardees received copies of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s autobiography, NDA pathfinders, mementoes and certificates during an interactive session where they shared their future aspirations.
Furthering this spirit, Assam Rifles felicitated twin sisters, Anju and Anjali Ningthoujam, who secured 87.2% and 86.4% in their Class 12 exams despite the tragic loss of their father during the ethnic violence of 2023. Additionally, ultra-marathoner Mr Ksh. Langamba Singh was honoured for his victories in the Dudhsagar Ultra Marathon. 18 officials and troops participated in the ceremonies, presenting cash prizes and mementoes to these role models who aspire to serve the nation.
These engagements underscore a narrative of youth empowerment and community resilience. By spotlighting students who triumphed over tragedy and athletes who conquered geographical barriers, Assam Rifles continues to bridge the gap between young aspirations and national service, igniting a sense of purpose and patriotic duty in the next generation.
