Imphal: Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla today virtually inaugurated the newly constructed school building of Pou Shankar Kane Vidyalaya at Hougailong in Tamenglong district. The building was constructed with funding from North Eastern Council under the Ministry of DoNER. The Vidyalaya was established in 2009 under the initiative of Purva Seema Vikas Pratishthan.
Addressing students, teachers and dignitaries through virtual mode, the Governor expressed happiness at being part of the occasion. He conveyed that adverse weather prevented his physical presence but extended his heartfelt wishes to all. The Governor commended the Purva Seema Vikas Pratishthan for its dedicated efforts in promoting education, social development and harmony in the remote and border regions of the State.
Highlighting the school’s progress, the Governor noted its transformation from a kuccha tin-roof structure till 2022, to rented accommodation, and now to a modern permanent building. He termed this journey a testament to perseverance and collective resolve. The Governor appreciated the North Eastern Council, Shillong, under the Ministry of DoNER, Government of India, for extending support in making the new infrastructure a reality. He also congratulated teachers and parents and wished Pou Shankar Kane Vidyalaya to emerge as a centre of excellence and inspiration.
