Assam primary schools to have tribal language textbooks

Guwahati: The Assam government has decided to introduce tribal language textbooks in primary schools, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Thursday.

Under the New Education Policy, from April 1 next year, students will be taught from tribal language textbooks in designated schools of the state, Sarma said.

The system will be implemented in all schools of Assam by 2026. For this, the government will prepare a three-year roadmap, he added.
