Kamjong: Assam Rifles conducted comprehensive medical outreach initiatives across Manipur on 05 October 2026, extending vital healthcare services to remote border residents and internally displaced persons. Under it’s hallmark Civic Action Programme, Assam Rifles organised a healthcare drive with a dedicated medical team at Phaikoh Village in Kamjong district. Simultaneously, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Maharashtra, launched first of its many medical camps over the next fourdays across Manipur, at Khewa, Sagolmang in Imphal East district.
At Phaikoh Village in Kamjong district, medical officers and paramedical personnel provided health check-ups, consultations and free essential medicines to 220 beneficiaries, comprising 120 adults and 100 children. The team also sensitised local residents on personal hygiene, preventive healthcare and the importance of timely medical consultation, strengthening trust and cooperation in the border area.
In Imphal East district, specialist doctors from Kolhapur, Mumbai and Pune under the aegis of IMA teamed up with Assam Rifles medical personnel at Sagolmang to render free consultations, diagnoses and treatment to 520 patients, including 165 men, 310 women and 45 children. The day-long event represented the joint efforts of over 75 Assam Rifles personnel, specialist doctors and civil society volunteers, supported by the base at Khewa, Dolaithabi Village Authority and PHC Sagolmang. To ensure complete inclusivity, Assam Rifles arranged free transportation for internally displaced persons from surrounding villages.
These synchronized medical drives highlight the common commitment of Assam Rifles towards community welfare, humanitarian assistance and public health, reinforcing social cohesion and well-being across Manipur.
