Shillong: Meghalaya’s opposition Voice of the People Party (VVP) has asked the Assembly Speaker Thomas Sangma to extend the duration of the upcoming autumn session of the Assembly.

The five-day session is schedules to begin on Friday.

In a letter addressed to Assembly Speaker Tuesday, VPP Parliamentary Party secretary, Heavingstone Kharpran said that the party in its parliamentary party meeting held on August 31, had a long and threadbare discussion on the issues concerning the State and wished to take up these issues through the motions, resolutions, and questions.

However, the VPP expressed its displeasure on the decision of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) to hold the session for 5 working days only which is too short.
