41st World TB Day observed at Manipur’s Tengnoupal district

Tengnoupal: The   41st TB  Day was observed at HWC Aimol Tampak at Tengnoupal district under the theme “ Invest To End TB, Save Lives” at  Tengnoupal district Tuesday.

 The district has 2 functional Designated Microscopic Centre (DMC)  in  Aimol Tampak and SHD Moreh. There are 13 (thirteen) numbers of Protected Health Information centres under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) in PHC Tengnoupal,   PHC Machi, HWC Aimol Tampak, SDH Moreh, PHC Moreh, HWC Khunbi, HWC Kwatha, HWC Leibi, HWC Saivom, HWC Sita, PHC Rilram Centre, HWC Khulsaibung and PHSC T. Bungmol.The district has total of number of 36 (thirty – six) patients undergoing treatment at present.

On the other hand, the district also celebrated the 2nd Bijli Mahotsav & ujjwal Diwas in Wabaching Village. DC  Mannuamching, who attended the celebrations as chief guest stressed on the importance of conserving electricity. She said that in the past, there was no electricity, so the government makes it the utmost priority to provide electricity not only from fossil fuels but also from renewable energies to every household for development in the country since it has become a basic necessity for manufacturing and production of goods, foods and clothing. 

She further states that it is high time for us to offer gratitude to the government because compared to our neighbouring countries, we, as  citizens of the country, are very lucky. She appeals to the people by stating that “  The government has done a lot for us,  it’s time for us  to ask ourselves what we can contribute to the government”.  In the future, every village and every household will be lighted either by solar or other sources of energy. It is our responsibility to conserve electricity and we should give up the habit of wasting it.

She further appealed for everyone in the district to join the “ Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign by  hoisting the national flag in every household and say ‘ It is a pride  moment for India’  from 13th to 15th August, 2022.  The village authorities can avail the national flag from the SDOs office at subsidised rate. This shows that we are grateful to be a citizen of this free nation.  She further states that  living in this nation has provided us with opportunities, rights and freedom of expression, so, it is time for us to contribute in our own small ways for a better future. 

Apart from SP Goulianmang, SP who attended the Bijli Mahotsav & Ujjwal Diwas as guest of honour, the celebration was also attended by DLOs of different departments, village heads and the public.
