Agartala: The additional chief judicial magistrate of West Tripura on Monday granted bail to Youth Trinamool Congress Chief Saayoni Ghosh who was arrested on Sunday on several criminal charges.
The police produced her in the court seeking two days police remand, as she was booked under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and several serious sections, said additional PP Biswajit Deb.
However, Saayoni’s advocate Shankar Lodh said that the allegations have been made against her was inconsistent and there were serious discrepancies between the police record and the complaint.
“In the FIR, the complainant mentioned that she had used abusive words and threats from the vehicle. But in the police record showed she came out from the vehicle and threatened,” the advocate stated.
After hearing both sides and scrutiny the records court was satisfied that Saayoni has been implicated on the political ground and granted her bail.
