Ambassa(Tripura): In the two municipal bodies in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai, BJP managed to win one seat as no opposition parties fielded any candidate and launched an extensive campaign in another where the opposition parties failed to start their campaign, it was reported on Wednesday.
In the state, election for 20 urban bodies is under process with two bodies in the Dhalai district. Amidst these two, BJP already grabbed the Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat as no opposition political parties were able to field any candidate within the stipulated 1500 hrs on Wednesday.
Now, the result is to be announced officially. The opposition political parties alleged hooliganism of the BJP cadres though the state election commission kept the alternative means of online application. The Minister of Industries and Commerce Manoj Kanti Deb who is the MLA from Kamalpur stated that the victory has given the responsibility for the new board to render the best possible service to the citizens with corruption-free administration. He also condemned the allegation of the opposition political parties stating it was their organisational failure.
On the other hand, in Ambassa Municipal Council, BJP took the upper hand as it launched an extensive door to door campaigns with the candidates. The opposition political parties CPIM and TMC have failed to launch their campaigns yet over here.
