Seva Sankalp Abhiyan launched in Senapati

Senapati: The District Administration of Senapati today launched the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan at the DRDA Hall, Senapati, as part of the nationwide outreach programme aimed at strengthening people-centric governance and improving the delivery of government services and welfare schemes.

The launch programme began with the lighting of candles and cake-cutting led by the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Dharun Kumar S, IAS, along with the District Level Officers (DLOs) and leaders of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), to commemorate 25 years of public service by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner called upon all district-level officers and officials to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, integrity and sensitivity, with the objective of improving the lives of the people. He stated that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, being observed from 17 September to 17 October 2026, marks 25 years of public service by the Hon’ble Prime Minister and provides an opportunity to further strengthen people-centric governance and public service delivery.

Emphasising the importance of effective implementation of government schemes at the grassroots level, the Deputy Commissioner urged all concerned departments to ensure that eligible beneficiaries have easy and timely access to government welfare schemes and services. He stressed that the intended benefits of government programmes should reach the people in a transparent and efficient manner, ensuring that no eligible person is left behind due to lack of awareness or accessibility.

The Deputy Commissioner further called upon district-level officers to embrace the spirit and objectives of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in their respective departments and work in close coordination to improve public service delivery. Officials were encouraged to identify gaps in implementation and take necessary corrective measures to make government services more accessible, responsive and citizen-friendly.

He also encouraged the general public to actively participate in the various programmes being organised during the campaign period from 17 September to 17 October 2026 and make full use of the government services and welfare schemes available to them.

In the welcome address, Ngaonii Panii, SDC, apprised the gathering of the observance of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and highlighted the various activities planned during the campaign period.

The programmes include “Aangan Ka Utsav – Honour of AWWs/AWHs/ASHAs”, featuring visits to Anganwadi Centres, interactions with Anganwadi Workers, ASHAs and mothers, nutrition-awareness activities and recognition of long-serving frontline workers. Other activities include “Kahani Badlav – Story of Change” and “Seva Jyoti Yatra”.

The “Seva Mera Yogdan – My Contribution” programme will be observed on 2nd October, featuring cleanliness and tree plantation drives. A National Innovation Challenge on Solid Waste Management and Flood Mitigation will also be conducted among college students, with recognition of the winners. The campaign will culminate with the “Seva Setu Abhiyan” on 17th October at the respective Sub-Divisional areas and District Headquarters. The day will also feature the “Sevak Jan Mahakumbh”, bringing together elected representatives, government institutions, volunteers and other stakeholders.

Later, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, Adahrii Maheo, MCS, led the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan pledge for the gathering.

As part of the campaign, the ZEO, Senapati led the painting, essay and elocution competitions on the theme “My Vision of Viksit Manipur in Viksit Bharat 2047” were organised across the district.

Meanwhile, a Special Blood Donation Camp was organised by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Senapati, in collaboration with CSOs at the Blood Bank Centre, District Hospital, Senapati.

The launch programme was attended by Shanngam S, IFS, Divisional Officer; SDOs; DLOs; officials from various departments; representatives of CSOs; and other stakeholders.
