Jhansi: A police Sub-Inspector (SI) was detained and suspended with immediate effect after he shot his wife with his service revolver in Uldan area of Jhansi district in Uttar Pradesh.
Police sources here on Monday said that SI Shashank Mishra, who was incharge of Bangra police outpost, shot his pregnant wife with his service revolver allegedly over a family dispute.
“After shooting his wife, Mishra got her admitted in the medical college and escaped,” they said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajesh S said that the incharge of Bangra outpost shot his wife with his service revolver over family discord. “The woman sustained bullet injury on her right arm and is out of danger,” he said.
The SSP said that the SI has been detained and has been suspended with immediate effect. “Legal action will be taken once a complaint is received from the family members,” Rajesh said.
