Imphal: In a historic event, Imphal-Thangal (via Bishnupur) and Zoujangtek MST bus service was launched Wednesday by Paulunthang Vaiphei, Addl Chief Secretary (Transport), at Manipur State Transport Office Complex, Moirangkhom, Imphal. RK Somorjit Singh, Vice-President, BJP Manipur Pradesh, M. Daniel, former ADC Member, Tamenglong graced the function as president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, P. Vaiphei stated that MST bus service has provided transport service to about 20 routes in Manipur including far-flung interior areas where private buses are not plying. He urged the chiefs and general public of the area to support the drivers and helpers as they are providing service to the public. “We are trying our best to increase the number of routes and provide better transport to the people of Manipur” he added.
Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Director (Transport), Laishram Delina Devi, JtDirector (Transport), Officials and staffs of the department also attended the function.
