Imphal: Manipur Police has so far collected Rs 2,000,10,100 as fine from 139313 persons for violating SOPs so far after the government announced the SOPs last year.

Manipur Police also seized 51850 vehicles for violating SOP. The three districts which had maximum violators were from Thoubal, Imphal West and Imphal East districts.

The Manipur government has been imposing restrictions to control the spread of Covid and since May 8 curfew has been imposed in seven districts considering the rapid spread of Covid 19 infections. The curfew will continue till May 17 in Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul.

E Priyokumar IGP Ops said on Monday 282 people were detained and Rs 1,07,150 collected as a fine.
