New Delhi: India has brought back over 13,300 of its citizens on board 63 flights as part of Operation Ganga so far, with 13 more flights scheduled over the next 24 hours, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Saturday.
Of the 63 flights, 15 flights landed since Friday evening. The number of Indians who returned onboard these 15 flights is around 3,000. Over 20,000 Indians have come out of Ukraine since issuance of the first advisory in January 2022.
Of the 13 new flights scheduled, one will be an Indian Air Force C-17 flight to Budapest. In all, seven flights would be from Budapest, two each from Kosice in Slovakia, Rzeszow in Poland and Bucharest.
The MEA Control Room, as well as the Control Centres operated by the Indian Embassies, continue to operate on 24×7 basis.
The MEA Control Room has attended to 12,214 calls and around 9,000 emails till Saturday afternoon, the ministry said.
