One Horned Rhino killed by poachers at Kaziranga National Park in Assam

Guwahati: A one Horned Rhino was allegedly killed by the poachers at the Kaziranga National Park and its horn was taken away, authorities said.

The park authorities said the carcass of Rhino was found in the Kohra range as the poachers had taken away the horn.After a long lull, this is the first incident of rhino poaching in nine months. The last such incident was reported in April 2021.

Sniffer dogs have been deployed in the location where the carcass was found to track the poachers.The carcass was found just a day after England cricketing legend Kevin Pietersen praised the PM Modi-led government on dropping of Rhino poaching in Assam.
