Kohima: The new cases of COVID-19 in Nagaland Saturday increased to 111 new cases, which increased the total number of COVID- 19 cases to 25,898 patients so far.
According to a Nagaland Health Department bulletin Sunday, among the 111 fresh COVID cases reported Saturday the new cases were detected from all ten districts of Nagaland with 51 cases in Kohima, 19 cases in Dimapur, 10 in Tuensang, nine in Mokokchung, eight in Zunheboto, four in Kiphire, three in Longleng, three in Wokha and two in Mon and two in Peren, taking the total caseload to 25,898.
The new cases emerged out of 1,406 samples that were tested on Saturday. The daily bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme said a total of 67 cases were detected during self tests and random tests, 33 from traced contacts, seven from returnees and travelers and two from armed forces, security personnel and two from the frontline workers.
Report said a total 111 patients who had previously tested COVID positive for the virus recovered on Saturday, taking the number of recovered cases to 23,698. As many as 48 in Kohima, 23 in Dimapur, 22 in Peren, eight in Mokokchung, six in Phek and four in Tuensang recovered from the virus.
With this, the active case count in the state now stands at 973. In terms of severity of cases, 781 active cases were asymptomatic, 128 were mild symptomatic, 29 were moderate on oxygen, 19 were severe on oxygen, seven were in ICU without ventilator and nine were in ICU on ventilator.
The COVID death toll in the state remained at 493 as no death was reported in the last 24 hours in the state.
