Kohima: Police personnel of Phek district of Nagaland have arrested two persons involved in kidnapping of an employee of Madhucon Projects Limited for ransom at Phek town on April 26 last.
According to a delayed official report issued by Phek police on Monday, the kidnappers were identified as activists of NSCN (Khango) and a cadre of NNC (Non Accordist), who had kidnapped the employee of Madhucon Projects Limited was kidnapped by the duo at a shop and taken to an unknown location. The kidnappers reportedly demanded Rs 3 lakh for his release.
On receiving information the Phek police immediately conducted raids at various suspected places and also with the intervention of public leaders, the employee was released unharmed and was later taken into police custody for investigation.
The Phek police registered a case against the kidnappers in this connection and arrested one of the kidnapper on same day and the other kidnapper was arrested at Yoruba village yesterday, the report said.
