MoRTH sanctions Rs 457 cr for Tripura

Deb said the ministry has approved the allocation for rehabilitation and up-gradation of the road stretch between Lalchara and Kanchanpur segment of NH-44A, the work of which was held up for last many years.

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has expressed happiness to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari on Thursday after sanctioning Rs 456.88 crore for the up-gradation of a national highway in Tripura under Bharatmala Project.

Deb said the ministry has approved the allocation for rehabilitation and up-gradation of the road stretch between Lalchara and Kanchanpur segment of NH-44A, the work of which was held up for last many years.

However, with the persuasion of the Tripura government, the ministry has sanctioned the fund for the road. This road will connect to Agartala-Aizawl National Highway and facilitate thousands of people.
