Aizawl: C.Lalrinsanga, Minister for Cooperation and Agriculture today, attended the commemoration of the 40th foundation day of NABARD, at its Regional Office in Aizawl.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister congratulated NABARD for its dedicated service towards the nation for 39 years. Working closely with the State Government, banks and financial institutions, NGO’s and the civil society, he said that NABARD has spearheaded financial assistance and innovations in rural Mizoram since 1989. To realize the State Government’s dream of collectivism in developmental effort on all sectors, particularly in agriculture and allied sectors, the Minister pointed out that NABARD has once again, stepped up by way of the new FPO formation programme, the newly launched AIF, providing assistance to PACS development programmes through the Mizoram Cooperative Apex Bank and the Multi Service Centre for PACS with a minimal interest of just 1%.
The Minister formally released “Success Story of 17 PACS Development Cell” published by the Mizoram Cooperative Apex Bank. He also flagged off a Mobile ATM Van sanctioned by NABARD for the Mizoram Rural Bank.
