Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday said the State Government will soon file an affidavit in the High Court relating to roster system for implementation of the job reservation policy in the State.

On April 20, the High Court has granted three weeks to the government to introduce a roster system for implementation of the State Reservation Policy.
The Court had said the state government that the roster system is relevant only for entry-level posts, unless reservation is also provided for promotions.

“Since it is a very large, complicated and sensitive exercise and there is a need to evaluate all departments for the past many years, therefore, the exercise to complete the roster system cannot be achieved in a matter of days or weeks,” Sangma told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.

Stating that the process is on to prepare a “proper affidavit”, the Chief Minister said the entire government on it and voiced confidence that the process will be completed it soon.
