Shillong: Meghalaya police on Wednesday arrested two persons including the founder of a newly announced self-styled terror group “Lawei ba Phyrnai” (a bright future).

Sleuths of the crime branch apprehended the two male youths here, a police officer said, while refusing to share details.

The two youths were now in police custody. The fake outfit had claimed in a recent statement it would wage war against the State because of the government’s alleged failure to address increasing unemployment.

The outfit had threatened to carry out a series of explosions in educational facilities in the State saying “education does not provide jobs”.
