Meghalaya: Abandoned bag found at NPP office, HNLC claims to be IED

Shillong: An abandoned bag was found lying in front of the gate of the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) here in Meghalaya, police said.

The outlawed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) General Secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw has claimed responsibility through Facebook for placing the IED bomb in front of the gate of the NPP office this morning.

Meanwhile, Police have cordoned off the entire area as the bomb disposal squad was also called in to inspect the bag.
