Manipur reports 6 deaths, 128 positive cases, 191 recoveries

Of the six who expired Wednesday, two each are from Imphal West and Ulhrul and one each from Imphal East and Thoubal. Four of those who expired had co-morbidities while all six of them were not vaccinated for Covid.

Imphal: Manipur reported six more Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday. During the same period, the state also reported 128 new positive cases and 191 recoveries, as per an official release from the health department.

Of the six who expired Wednesday, two each are from Imphal West and Ulhrul and one each from Imphal East and Thoubal. Four of those who expired had co-morbidities while all six of them were not vaccinated for Covid.

Of the 128 persons who tested positive from the general population, 70 are from Imphal West, 20 from Imphal East, 7 from Ukhrul, six from Chandel, Four each form Bishnupur and Churachandpur, three from Jiribam, two from Kangpokpi and Noney and One each Senapati and Tengnoupal.  

Altogether, 2,418 samples were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 5.3 %

Meanwhile 191 persons recovered and were discharged, out of which 65 are from home isolation, 104 from CCCs and 22 from JNIMS. 

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 21,706 out of which 1, 18, 141 have recovered leaving 1,683 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on October 7, 2021, is 4, 289 and the cumulative number of doses administered is 17, 53,794 (1st dose 12,29,462, 2nd dose 5,29,332).

The total numbers of beds available in various hospitals for Covid-19 patients on October 8 is 547 out of which 429 are general beds while 118 are ICU beds.

The total number of beds available at various CCCs of the state on October 8 is 3372 out of which 560 are occupied while 2812 are vacant.
