Imphal: Manipur logged a significant jump in the new cases with 380 persons (372 general population eight CAPF) testing positive in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Tuesday. During the same period, there was no report of any Covid related death while 46 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.
Of the 372 persons from the general population who tested positive, 148 are from Imphal West, 79 from Imphal East, 73 from Churachandpur, 15 each from Bishnupur and Thoubal, five from Ukhrul, three from Kakching, two each from Chandel, Senapati and Tamenglong, two from and one from Tengnoupal.
Altogether, 2,724 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 14.0 %.
Meanwhile, 46 persons recovered and were discharged, 22 from home isolation, 21 from CCCs and three from JNIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 97.02 %
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 27,873 out of which 1,24,067 have recovered, leaving 1791 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on January 17, 2022, is 8,452, the cumulative number of doses administered is 23,95,965 (1st dose 13,66,300, 2nd dose 10,21,743) and precautionary 7,922.
There a total of 300 covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 18 are occupied while 281 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 75 are occupied and 115 are vacant.
The Health Department also directed Air Passengers who traveled to the state by AI – 715 in seat nos. 17 to 24 and by GE – 6014 in seat nos. 13 to 31 to inform Covid common Control Room at 1800343818 or their respective District Surveillance Officer (DSO).
