Manipur registers 12 deaths, 1,003 positive cases, 871 recoveries Wednesday

Altogether 7,275 persons were tested which amounts to a much-improved positivity rate of 13.8% from the previous day rate of 18.4%.

Imphal: The thousand-plus positive cases in Manipur continues unabated, Wednesday yet again saw 1,003 new positive cases (1,001 general population, 2 CAPF). The state also reported 12 deaths and 871 recoveries during the same period, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

Of the 1,001 persons(482 males, 519 females) who tested positive among the general population, 264 of them are from Imphal West, 221 from Imphal East, 176 from Bishnupur, 90 from Churachandpur, 48 from Thoubal, 45 from Kakching, 37 from Kangpokpi, 36 from Noney, 31 from Tamenglong, 25 from Chandel, 11 from Ukhrul, nine from Senapati, five from Kamjong, three from Jiribam and one each from Tengnoupal and Pherzawl.

Of the 12 persons who succumbed to Covid related death, six of them belong to Imphal West, two each to Imphal East and Thoubal and one each to Kakching and Kangokpi. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,510.

 Meanwhile, of the 871 persons who were discharged, 375 are from home isolation, 248 from CCCs, 219 from CHICs, 21 from RIMS and 8 from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 87.02% on Wednesday.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 95,824(General Population – 91,850, Central Security Personnel – 3,974). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 83,392(General Population – 79,425, Central Security Personnel – 3,917). The number of active cases is 10,922(General Population – 10,870, Personnel – 52).

18,378were vaccinated on June July 27, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 12,52,408(1st dose 10,66,680, 2nd dose 1,85,728).
