Bishnupur: As part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which commenced nationwide on September 17, an outreach camp, Seva Setu Abhiyan, for Nambol Assembly Constituency was organised today at Sabal Leikai Community Hall, Nambol.
The programme was jointly organised by the District Administration, Bishnupur, in coordination with the Office of the MLA, Nambol Assembly Constituency.
Nearly 1,000 people attended the programme and availed various services and facilities provided by different government departments. Eligible beneficiaries were also distributed horticultural inputs, aids and appliances, and fingerlings.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi highlighted the various public welfare initiatives undertaken by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his 25 years of public service. She said that several welfare schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), have been introduced with the objective of extending support to weaker and vulnerable sections of society and improving their quality of life.
She also highlighted the importance of doorstep delivery of public services, stating that such initiatives have been undertaken at various instances over the years to make government services more accessible to the people. She said that Seva Setu Abhiyan is being organised across all Assembly Constituencies during the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to bring government services closer to the people.
Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi urged the public to make maximum use of the services and welfare schemes being made available through such outreach programmes. She also encouraged officials of different departments to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication for the benefit of the people.
Addressing the gathering as the Functional President, Hon’ble MLA of Nambol AC Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh also highlighted various welfare schemes launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister for the benefit of the people. He stressed the importance of the zero-balance bank account initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, which has helped extend basic banking services to unbanked sections of the population across the country.
Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur Smt. Pooja Elangbam informed that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which was launched for the district on September 17 at the Panchayat Resource Centre (PRC) Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, is being implemented across the district in full swing.
She stated that Seva Setu Abhiyan has so far been organised for all Assembly Constituencies of the district. She also highlighted other activities being organised as part of the campaign, including Aangan Ka Utsav, blood donation camps, health camps and India of Dreams – Art Seva.
More than 20 departments including Fisheries, Agriculture, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Sericulture, Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), Forest, MSPDCL, Health, DCPO, ICDS and Social Welfare among others set up stalls at the venue.
The departments provided facilities for beneficiary enrolment, verification, documentation and submission of applications for various government schemes and services.
The programme was also attended by District Level Officers and officials of the concerned departments, among others.
