Manipur records 911 positive cases, 14 deaths Sunday

The release further informed that a total of 205 NP swabs collected from different parts of Manipur have been confirmed as Delta variant positive till date. This variant is known to spread faster than the original strain.

Imphal: Manipur recorded 911 new positive cases, out of which 897 are from the general population and 14 of them are personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Sunday.

During the same period, the state also reported 14 deaths due to Covid-19 and 570 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 14 persons who expired on Saturday, include 4 from Bishnupur, 2 each Imphal West, Imphal East and Tengnoupal and 1 each from Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1262.

Of the 897 persons (464 males, 433 females) from the general population who tested positive, 269 are from Imphal West, 207 are from Imphal East, 140 of them are from Bishnupur, 84 from Thoubal, 83 from Churachandpur, 63 from Kakching, 14 from Kangpokpi, 10 from Chandel, 6 each from Senapati and Tamenglong, 3 from Pherzawl and 2 each from Tengnoupal and Jiribam.

While, of the 483 persons who recovered and were discharged, 228 of them are from home isolation, 207 from CHICs, 110 from CCCs, 18 from RIMS and 7 from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 89.05%.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 77,731(General Population – 73,814, Central Security Personnel – 3,917). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 69,224(General Population – 65,407 Central Security Personnel – 3,817). The number of active cases is 7,235(General Population – 7,140and Central Security Personnel – 95).

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1928D type Oxygen Cylinders and 424B type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur. District hospitals and government institutions have 364D type and 94B type filled cylinders out of which  Bishnupur (71D, 2B), Chandel (30D, 5B), Churachandpur (31D, 0B), Senapati (40D, 0B), Thoubal (57D, 30B), Ukhrul (19D, 18B), Tamenglong (18D, 0B), Jiribam (48D, 12B), Kamjong (3D, 1B), Kangpokpi (3D, 0B), Kakching (16D, 17B), and Pherzawl (6D, 2B) and Noney(2D, 0B). CCCs have 358D and 109B filled oxygen cylinders available Sunday.

6,988 persons were vaccinated on June July 10, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 8,71,470(1st dose 7,77,202, 2nd dose 94,268).

The official release further informed that the number of patients admitted/adjusted as on July 9 against available bed strength in different treatment facilities in the state are RIMS(209/224), JNIMS(240/286), I land Hospital(30/60), district Covid facilities (141/332), MSF(22/30, private Covid hospitals(219/260), CCCs 1101/2906). Grand total of admitted patients is 1962 and beds available is 2236.

The release further informed that a total of 205 NP swabs collected from different parts of Manipur have been confirmed as Delta variant positive till date. This variant is known to spread faster than the original strain. To avoid further spread, IDSP, Manipur has requested to the public to sue face mask even in family setting over and above the standard Covid Appropriate Behaviour issued earlier.
