Kerala reports 11,546 new COVID cases, 11,056 recoveries

Meanwhile, 118 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 12,699.

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid-19 was newly detected in 11,546 persons in Kerala on Friday while 11,056 patients have recovered from the disease, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.

In a press release here this evening, the CM said “1,08,867 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 10.6 %. A total of 2,25,06,647 samples have been sent for testing till this day.”

Meanwhile, 118 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 12,699.

Today, 24 Local Self Government areas were identified with TPR above 24 percent in the State.

In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK taking the total to 128, and their samples have been sent to NIV, Pune for further testing. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
