Jiribam: 3rd and final round training for polling personnel ends

The training programme attended by 200 polling personnel including 40 women covered topics, such as the functioning of EVM, statutory and non-statutory documents, and other election tools as per ECI guidelines.

Jiribam: As the poll preparedness in respect of 40-Jiribam Assembly Segment of 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency reached its zenith, the third and final round of training for the polling personnel of Jiribam which commenced from 22nd April, 2024 in 4 batches at the training hall and conference hall of Deputy Commissioner Office, Jiribam in connection with 18th General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024 concluded today.

The training programme attended by 200 polling personnel including 40 women covered topics, such as the functioning of EVM, statutory and non-statutory documents, and other election tools as per ECI guidelines. 

The personnel were also trained in the operation and sealing of EVMs, sensitization of EVMs, duties of PRO, hands-on training on EVM, mock poll and actual poll, filling of Mock Poll Certificate, form 17A, 17B and 17C, and Presiding Officer’s Diary, by the Master Trainers of District Election Office. 

The trainees were also trained on Pollstar, eAtlas and Traccar by DIO/NIC team, Jiribam, under the supervision of District Election Officer/Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam Krishna Kumar, IAS, and instructions of Election Observer to 2- OM (ST) PC.

The programme was also attended by ARO Jiribam, Th. Manoranjan Singh, MCS; Nodal Officer for the Welfare of Polling Personnel and ZEO, Jiribam, Th. Amurashi Chanu, MES; Nodal Officer Training, Dr. Th. Somorendra Singh; Additional Nodal Officer Training, Shri Yumlembam Sanathoi, Jr. MCS and Master Trainers Dr. Ksh. Memthoibi Devi, Assistant Professor, Jiri College, Smt. Sagolsem Monalisa Devi, Assistant Professor, Jiri College, Chanam Chanu Nganthoihanbi, Professor, Jiri College and Paonam Premananda Singh, Professor, Jiri College.

It may be noted that the first and second rounds of training programmes were conducted on 22 March and 8th April, 2024 in batches. Furthermore, the 40-Jiribam Assembly Segment of 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency will go to polls on 26th April, 2024 in the second phase of the elections.
