India is third largest medicine manufacturing country: Mangal

Mangal Pandey said that this institute has added to the glory of the nation and requested the faculty to guide the students of other Pharmaceutical colleges across the state for a better future.

Patna: Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that India is the third largest medicine manufacturing country in the world and added that the sector comprises two percent of the Indian economy and eight percent of its industrial income.

Addressing the 4th convocation ceremony of the national institute for pharmaceutical education and research in Hajipur of Vaishali Mangal Pandey said on Saturday that, currently India is manufacturing 20 to 24% of the generic medicines in the world and has registered a growth of 12% during the past 2-3 years.

Addressing the students he appealed to them to prepare themselves for facing the challenges and come forward with better life-saving drugs
in the era during which the Pharmaceutical sector was getting new technologies and medicines every day.

Mangal Pandey said that this institute has added to the glory of the nation and requested the faculty to guide the students of other Pharmaceutical colleges across the state for a better future.
