The BJP had dissolved the Saligao block on Thursday as some of the leaders had raised their voices against Salgaocar joining the party.

Salgaocar had contested the 2017 assembly elections on the Goa Forward Party ticket and defeated then tourism minister Dilip Parulekar.

However, he was made a minister in the Manohar Parrikar led government as GFP had extended support to the BJP.

Assembly elections in Goa are scheduled to be held early next year.
